Robert JohnsonAmazing off the Beaten Path Retreat. The rooms are not the usual hotel type. Each room is unique and wonderful. We are in the bamboo room. The staff is better than any five star hotel as they do all they can to make you comfortable. Today we went to a traditional Mayan home in the village and made sipping chocolate and corn tortillas from scratch. What a wonderful experience. This place is a unique experience that should not be missed. Oh, the food is prepared by Gloria and is some of the best in Mexico. Lee, thanks for a life changing, fun, and peaful experience.

George DuffyGenesis is a delightful immersion into living in the middle of a Mayan village. It also has the feeling of an international hostel with interesting travellers coming and going, each seeking to quench that irresistible need to experience the world beyond offices, wifi and big box stores. Food is great. Gloria attempts to accommodate a lot of special dietary requests and often comes up with some very tasty surprises. All local. Just one note: you gotta like dogs. Lee has an ongoing dog rescue program and shelters a few dogs in need here.

Frani OchoaGenesis Eco-Oasis was an oasis in the truest sense of the word. From cloud watching from my garden hammock to reading books from the hotel’s private collection (again from the the hammock) to bird watching (again from the hammock), I truly enjoying feeding my soul in this little corner of the world a million miles away from my stressful job. A dip in the pool every afternoon, a natural cocktail in the early evening followed by a 3 course gourmet vegetarian dinner and this gal was in heaven. Thank you Lee for making this the perfect personal retreat for me. After just 3 days, I’m completely rejuvenated. The only problem is that now I don’t want to go back home : ( I need more Genesis.
