We love this place for great breakfasts, good coffee and house made bakery. Popular with both the gringo retirees and local folks. Couple of blocks from the main square. You should try it. Has a long communal table which encourages chats with strangers.

I am new in the city and people highly recommended me La Mesa Grande because of the pizzas. Please note that I am only reviewing the pizza service. There is no doubt that they make good bread there, however when it comes to pizzas, they have good crusts, poor ingredients. Also, when you go to a place to eat you want for the waiters to smile and be kind. This is not the case. Serious waiters and hostile owner. They need to improve the service.
