adam thomLarge room with high ceilings, but that meant the air did not circulate with the fan on. Super hot at night. However, the owner arranged a ride to Dzimbanche which made up for it. It is also quite a hike from museum downtown.

heather blundonI have stayed twice at La Posada Chetumal, once in 2013 and again in 2014(on our way to Guatemala/Belize) and would absolutely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Chetumal, or anyone traveling the area, it is well worth the 8(ish) hour bus ride from Cancun! Staff (or friends, really) at La Posada Chetumal are absolutely exemplary. They helped us find buses and activities in the area, took us to local pubs and restaurants where we could enjoy the local music and fare, and overall were fantastically loving throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to basically nurse my partner back from his illness he had been suffering from for many years before. Not just a hostel, we felt as if we were visiting our beloved family when we stayed at La Posada Chetumal. I am still flabbergasted at the experience we had staying here, it was the pinnacle of our entire journey. Stay with them on your travels!! One cannot afford to travel past this beautiful home without stopping in.
