The nearby attractions include everything from tours and day trips to fantastic snorkeling and diving excursions, the Mayan ruins such as Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba, golf courses, world-class restaurants and shops.

The place is great, beautiful setup, staff is nice and helpful. Apartment was huge and clean, impeachable. Only thing is there was 16+3% tax excluded in our booking price, which we thought was really really unfair not to be properly shown and clearly highlighted in the booking. Turned out to be a considerable amount due to the long stay - rip off.

Wow! What a great Boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The staff "Bonito" nice and sincerely interested in you enjoying every minute of your stay. Step out the front door and take a left you are on 5th ave with all its activities, shops and restaurants. Take a right and walk 2 blocks and you will be on the beach. The hotel is amazingly quiet considering its downtown location. It has underground parking that is safe and the staff is right there anytime you need to come and go. Another big bonus is the elevator (handicap Accessible) rooftop.. With lounge chairs and an outdoor kitchen. Most rooms have their own private space on the roof but there is also an area to share stories and meet other travelers. I Highly recommend Acanto. Definitely 5 Of 5 Stars. Friendly, safe and very affordable. I stayed a week with my wife and we did not want to leave. Nick @ unleashedontheworld

We have been to Playa Del Carmen on several occasions and it was beautiful. although we have never stayed at this specific resort Mexico was a great experience for us. We took the time to spend with some friends staying at Acanto Hotel and we absolutely loved it. Our next vacation will definitely be there.

My extended family of 7 (with two under 2) spent a lovely week at Acanto Boutique Hotel. Arrangements made through the hotel for a van with a toddler seat made everyone more relaxed on our ride to and from Cancun airport. Upon check-in we were greeted warmly by Karen whose friendliness and helpfulness made our visit enjoyable. We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa with our own hot tub and gas grill on the roof (both of which were cleaned daily). The accommodations were luxurious with king-sized beds, quiet and powerful AC, drawers and closet, safe and tiles showers with a bench. The electricity to the unit requires at least one key card near the front entry, making it easy to turn off all appliances by removing the card upon departure. We prepared many meals in the villa and were pleased that we could all dine together at the dining room table. Matt (owner) and Karen were very accommodating in ensuring we had a pack and play for the children, and special accommodations on our first night when there was a SNAFU on our room availability. The hotel has a wonderful location, close to the beach and close to 5th Avenue and to Mega. We will stay here again when we return to Playa del Carmen.

Our stay at Acanto was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and always cooperative; they were able to work with us and our crazy schedule by booking taxis and tours at the last minute. We also enjoyed the rooftop chairs overlooking the ocean and the ice-cold swimming pool in the courtyard. The facility was very nice and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Playa!

I stayed at Acanto for my honeymoon. They were extremely friendly and thoughtful and even had a complimentary bottle of wine in my room waiting for me upon arrival. I really appreciated the staff. They were extremely helpful especially Joel. He recommended places to go and places to eat. I would definitely recommend it and i would go stay again.

A lovely new boutique hotel that is right in the heart of Playa del Carmen but manages to be tranquil and peaceful. The rooms have every amenity and are spotlessly clean. Service provided by Rafaela and Karen is attentive. They are always there to help. Rooms include access to two beach clubs within walking distance.

The Acanto Boutique Hotel has an experienced staff that are as friendly and helpful as they are capable. We had some minor issues during our stay, but they were easily fixed when we let the staff know. They are on top of their game and want to do everything possible to give guests a luxury experience at a reasonable price. In terms of amenities, location and quality of service, the Acanto Boutique Hotel is among the best values in the Playa del Carmen.

Me and my boyfriend stayed two nights at Acanto hotel and we were very happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The hotel is just steps from the famous 5th avenue and the beach aswell. My favourite thing was the rooftop with the amazing view and fresh breeze. But I also loved the rooms, big beds, safe, and lovely huge shower. We will be back for sure and next time we have to use the BBQ and the jacuzzi ;) Thank you and see you again. Hanne and Edward

We recently stayed at Acanto, after we purchased a Groupon for the hotel. Our stay here was beyond what we originally anticipated! When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff, lead by Nallely, at the front desk. Nallely greeted us, finalized our payment, provided us with two bottles of water and stored our bags until our room was ready. When our room was finished, it far exceeded our expectations! The room was clean, fully furnished, comfortable, and sported luxurious amenities. I was especially impressed by the large marble tiles, marble shower, and wood furnishings. In addition, the view from the rooftop of Acanto is one of the best in Playa del Carmen! During our stay Nallely arranged excursions for us and provided us with suggestions and coupons for restaurants, beaches and beach bars, and the best night clubs. When we had a question Nallely was there to assist us. In addition, each day our room was cleaned impeccably well by the Acanto staff. I do not write reviews for products or organizations, but made an exception when Acanto staff requested. I am two weeks post my vacation and continue to rave to family and friends regarding my experience with Acanto. I would recommend Acanto to anyone and intend on staying in Acanto during my next visit to Playa del Carmen.
