We booked a day of horse riding and para-sailing thru Best Day from our staff at Riu Playacar. The horse riding was great. It was much longer than advertised. It lasted almost two hours. More than half of which was thru the bush on a raised limestone roadway so very smooth. And the rest was along the beaches thru the resort and along a stretch of non groomed beach. The horses do not go in the water and the saddles are very hard (wood I think). And I know from others experience that leather, water and sand make for very uncomfortable experience. Also I have heard that other area places to not have a smooth surface to ride on (loose stone), and the horses are not as healthy. The horses here are very nice looking and appear very healthy and remain in-line for the most part.
