Lifes Amazing Journey

Lots of restaurants and shops. Beach gets very crowded near this area but, if you walk down about 10 min or so it gets more quiet. The beach and bars are great. Very easy area to get around.

I would look elsewhere before having your wedding at the Akiin. My fiancée and I visited the Akiin in Dec 2015. it was an impromptu visit, they were setting up for a wedding, and the venue looked great. I met Sandra and I told the Akiin we would be in touch. 21 messages and 4 months later, we decided to abandon the Akiin. Some low lights included a) including the wrong people on email communications (other couples not associated with us) b) inability for the Akiin to receive our down payment (sent check to the US address in their email signature, had to cancel check and eventually wire money) and c) poor communication in general (slow to respond, poor English), and a refusal to refund the deposit ($2,000 USD) despite having never signed a contract. At the end of the day, the professionalism left much to desire and we did not want to chance showing up to a double booked wedding.

Akiin is the chillest beach club in Tulum. Fairly standard Mexican beach fare (ceviche, fish tacos, quesadillas, lobster, etc). The Instagram ready beach bar with rope swing chairs is the best place for day drinking.
